Welcome to Agarwal Nursing Home. Our aim is to provide personal and individualised care in pregnancy. Every mum has the right to choose how their baby should be delivered. We will advise and guide you every step of the way. Patient/doctor contact is very important and we understand that these can be anxious times for many parents.
We have more than 40 years experience in delivering babies; where women choose natural childbirth but where high risk cases are also a frequent event. This ensures that we can give the best possible care to low risk women but are also able to respond promptly and appropriately when emergencies occur. Our delivery care is centred around choice and partnership with their patients.
We feel that women and their families should have a choice in childbirth and that these choices should be respected. This choice is more often than not to reduce the amount of unnecessary medical intervention and to optimise the chances of a normal untraumatic delivery. Where unforseen circumstances prevail we endeavour to guide our clients through the various interventions that may be necessary such as induction of labour, augmentation, and Caesarean section. These may not be desired interventions, but sometimes they are necessary to improve the chances of a normal delivery or to ensure safe delivery for mother and baby.

Making decisions for fertility checks or a female fertility test is never easy as it may have a toll on your psychological, personal and social situations. We at Agarwal Nursing Home mitigate stress associated with getting a female fertility test. We over the years, has handled thousands of patients. We also understand that privacy can be a great concern for our patients and it is given top priority. At Agarwal Nursing Home, we aim to carefully assess every woman and couple who are trying to conceive, to see what their chances are, and to work out if anything can be done to improve their chances of becoming pregnant.
We offer appointments to take a detailed history and arrange appropriate investigations. These tests include blood test, hormone tests, fertility tests such as, detailed Trans Vaginal Ultrasound, and Antral Follicle count. We must also not forget to perform a Semen analysis!
Some women will then move forward to have a surgical assessment of their reproductive organs performed prior to considering IVF. We feel that it is useful to consider an expert assessment and possibly the option of fertility surgery prior to commencing on the emotional ʻroller coasterʼ that is IVF. We work closely with local world class IVF centres.
Surgery takes the form of a Hysteroscopy (looking inside the womb) and a Laparoscopy (looking inside the abdomen to visualise the womb, fallopian tubes and ovaries).
Fertility surgery is usually performed using ʻkeyholeʼ surgical techniques as a planned ʻday caseʼ, as women usually feel well enough to go home on the day of their surgery and make a very quick full recovery. These anatomical or physical abnormalities can be rectified using advanced surgical techniques that leave minimal scar tissue. A surgical division of adhesions, opening up of blocked fallopian tubes or removal of a small fibroid can have a profound effect on fertility and lead to a successful outcome without the need for further IVF treatment.
Most women want to maximize their chances of achieving a natural pregnancy and through advanced fertility surgery at Agarwal Nursing Home, we hope to help them achieve this aim.

Laparoscopy, also known as diagnostic laparoscopy, is a surgical diagnostic procedure used to examine the organs inside the abdomen. It is a low-risk, minimally invasive procedure that involves small incisions only. It is performed by a laparoscope. It is a very common procedure now as major procedures like hysterectomy and myomectomy are also being performed through laparoscopy. It is widely being adopted by various surgeons across the world because of good results.

2. Pregnancy Termination Surgery (Surgical Abortion)
Surgical termination of pregnancy/ removal of retained placental tissue:
Manual Vacuum Aspiration (MVA) is a gentle, early abortion option which is available between 6 — 13 weeks of pregnancy. It is one of the least invasive procedures available, done with a mini handheld vacuum, creating gentle suction. MVA differs significantly from Machine Aspiration, which is commonly used in many hospitals — requiring general anaesthesia and creating a very strong vacuum pressure leading to significant pain.
By contrast, MVA creates gentle pressure and can therefore be done under local anaesthesia. However, cramps of the uterus will still be felt for small periods of 10-15 seconds, up to 3-4 times, allowing periods of rest in between.
